IPL juicier than Bollywood!

There is a unique chemistry among the sports world and the Bollywood, especially cricket, for decades at a stretch. If anyone can, even faintly, he will still remember the days when the cricket tests used to gather the maximum craze in Mumbai, along with the presence of top class Bollywood film celebs. There are in fact many who can still recall the wedding of ex-Indian skipper Tiger Pataudi and the Bengali heartthrob Sharmila Tagore and the response that it evoked. Well, with the passing of years there have been modifications of many aspects in life. Both the cricket word and Bollywood has also changed a lot. On the other hand, with the presence of the ever-vigilant media, strikingly absent in the bygone ages, this relation has been eulogized and also much hyped from time to time.

The latest addition in this legacy has been the IPL or the Indian Premier League that is all set to boil the blood of the Indians in the coming days starting from April 18. This is certainly pre-destined but what is more conspicuous is the participation of the Bollywood film personalities in the impendent IPL in hordes. The latest introduction of this unison is Hrithik Roshan, the famed darling of the Indian teens. To some quarters it is almost definite that the Bollywood matinee idol is going to be in the center stage in the role of the brand ambassador of Mumbai Indians, the Indian Premier League team owned by Mukesh Ambani. The team was grasped by the doyen of Indian industry against $111.9 million. There is indeed a speculation that Hrithik will soon be shooting in an ad campaign and also an album for the Mumbai Indians team. This will not be any such brand promotion but also to boost the fortitude of the team. What will be the outcome is not certain yet, but following the footsteps of Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta Hrithik is also going to be an integral part of the cricket fraternity. Who is to follow next? Indeed this is a million dollar question.
